Object of the game
The object of the game is to get the most answers right - and the highest score wins.

You can play the game as often as you like and with as many partners as you like. The more you play, the more points you build up and the better your chances are of winning - and attracting game partners looking for a winner!

There are two different categories you can win in:

1. Player (individual) category (the highest-scoring player wins)

2. Couples category (the couple that score the most points together wins)

Winning depends not only on your knowledge, but on how well you chat with your partner during the quiz.

Remember, even a wrong answer earns points if both you and your partner reply with the same answer.

And the good news is you don't have to play with the same partner all the time. You can keep building up your Player (individual) points - no matter how many different partners you play with!

Point scoring
Both players in a couple answer correctly - 100 points each

One player answers correctly - 10 points to the correct player, 0 points to the incorrect player

Both players in a couple answer incorrectly with the same answer - 10 points each

Both players in a couple answer incorrectly and differently - 0 points each

Players have 15 minutes to answer the questions.

Maximum SMS cost is $0.75 per message including GST.

Getting started
You can quickly and easily register online on the Love Hunt homepage

Or register via SMS by following these steps:

1. To register, send REG followed by your nickname (four to eight characters, no spaces) to 188 7454.

2. Following registration you'll be asked to create your profile so that we can find you a potential match. Send the word ME followed by your gender (M or F), age and the gender preference of your partner (M or F).

For example: ME M 30 F

3. Once your profile is updated, you then need to send the word MATCH so the system can find you a partner. Alternatively, you can send the word PICK followed by a nickname if you already know the registered person you want to play with.

To get the nickname of another match, send the word NEXT.

To check the profile of any player, simply send PROF followed by a nickname.

For example: PROF Julie

4. Once matched, both you and your partner are sent three trivia questions to answer.

Playing to win
You can continue playing after answering all your questions by sending the word AGAIN. We'll send you another three questions.

While answering the question, you and your partner can communicate by sending CHAT followed by the message.

To block another player from future contact, send BLOCK followed by the nickname.

For example: BLOCK Jeff

This command can be cancelled by sending UNBLOCK followed by the nickname.

You can change partners by sending QUIT and then MATCH for another match, or PICK followed by the nickname of the person they want to play with. Players can accept or decline the invitation to play.

The OFFLINE command temporarily logs you out of the game. You become unavailable for all other players and no further messages will be delivered to them.

If you're playing with a partner, the partnership is cancelled and your partner is automatically informed. Use the ONLINE command to return to the game.

Need help?
When a player needs help, they send HELP to receive advice relating to the part of the game they're in.

Alternatively, send HELP PICK, HELP COMMANDS for other instructions.

To check the top five players, send BEST.

To check your own score, send SCORE. To check other player's score, send SCORE followed by their nickname.

To permanently leave the game, send CANCEL.

Please note: all SMS communication runs completely anonymously (other players know just your nickname, not your phone number or any other contact). If you want to reveal your identity to any of your partners you can, but it's not advisable.
